LEME

The upper middle class of the Southern Zone of Rio de Janeiro is confused with tourists and passing visitors who frequent Leme Beach, in the left corner of Copacabana Beach. More reserved than the neighboring beach, its wide strip of sand is about 1 km long and is considered calm, with soft, white sands and relatively calm sea, with clear, clean and cold waters.

To your left, next to the Morro do Leme, there are still several fishermen, who fight hand in hand a space built especially for them, the Path of the Fishermen, also known as Mirante do Leme because of its extraordinary view. There, pitch fishing takes over the spot, which is also used as a diving spot for the bravest. But care must be taken: when Leme Beach is under a hangover the place can be dangerous, and it is not uncommon for unsuspecting or unwary visitors to be swept up by the waves that come to lick the place. Upstairs is the Forte Duque de Caxias, better known as Forte do Leme.

Leme Beach is considered one of the quietest in the South Zone, except for Sundays and long summer holidays, when it is difficult to find a place in the sand. Anyone who ventures, however, will count on an immense amount of options of food, with kiosks and ambulantes in the sand and the boardwalk, besides many bars and restaurants of excellent quality along the border.
