NATIONAL HISTORICAL MUSEUM

The architectural complex formed by the former Arsenal de Guerra (1764) and the House of the Train (1762) became a museum in 1922. Considered one of the most important in Brazil, it gathers more than 250 thousand pieces that tell the country's history - from the discovery To the Republic. In the collection are documents, weapons, paintings, furniture, collections of notes and coins and carriages. With the works of restoration the space recovered the Patio of the Cannons - with pieces from the 17th to the 20th centuries - and won escalators, elevator and cafeteria.
