URCA
Although Urca is a small district compared to others in Rio de Janeiro, it has within its borders two of the most famous mountains of Rio de Janeiro, the Sugar Loaf and Corcovado, being the square that faces the Praia Vermelha that depart the cable cars from the air way to the Sugar Loaf.
The small and quiet neighborhood of Urca sometimes resembles an inner city in the middle of Rio de Janeiro. Walking along its streets, small beaches and squares is a quiet and pleasant experience.
The Urca has many picturesque places and places, some historical forts with centuries of history, 19th century buildings, still some interesting first-half houses to contemplate.
Beach of Urca
They are only 200 meters long, but the view and charm of Praia da Urca make up for the size. The calm sea and the beauty of the place - surrounded by Morro Cara de Cão and Fortaleza São João - makes it crowded on summer weekends, despite the polluted waters of Guanabara Bay. It is there, incidentally, that the waters of the bay and the Atlantic Ocean meet.
SMALL WALL URCA
A meeting point for young people from Rio de Janeiro and tourists from all over the world, Mureta da Urca became a landmark in the city when it comes to cold beer and sunsets under one of the most beautiful views of the city. Every day, friends gather at the wall to chat, eat snacks served in the streets around the bars and enjoy the beautiful view of Guanabara Bay. The peaks are on Thursdays and Fridays, starting at 7:00 pm, and at weekends, serving as a warm-up for the Rio ballads. Just arrive, order your ice cream and enjoy the authentic late afternoon of the summer in Rio.
