IPANEMA
One of the most popular beaches in Rio de Janeiro, Ipanema maintains the reputation of being an eternal launcher of fashion and cultural movements. Posto 9 (as it is called the area around the number 9 rescue station) is the most crowded, bringing together people from all tribes at certain points - the GLS public is in front of Rua Farme de Amoedo, the golden youth beat Point at the time of Joan Angélica and the modern ones are divided between the streets Vinícius de Moraes and Maria Quitéria. The boardwalk, the kiosks and the bike lane are all day long. In front of the beach is the Cagarras archipelago, accessible by boat trips departing from Marina da Glória.
In December 2014, the neighborhood won a statue of singer-songwriter Tom Jobim. Next to Arpoador, the work portrays the young musician, walking with a guitar in the back. In the background, the beautiful sea of Ipanema. The sculpture takes the signature of artist Christina Motta, who is also the author of the famous statue of Brigitte Bardot on the edge of Búzios.
