COPACABANA
Postcard from Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana Beach has to be in your script. For a walk on the Boardwalk, a coconut water at one of the kiosks, a visit to the beautiful Copacabana Fort at one end or a walk at the Duque de Caxias Fort at the other end (already at Leme Beach).
With about three kilometers and moving day and night, the most famous beach in Brazil has modern kiosks and wide strip of sand filled with volleyball and football net. The public is varied, bringing together foreign tourists, cariocas from various neighborhoods, children, young and old. Traffic is also intense on the bike path.
At the end of the beach, near the Copacabana Fort, stands the bronze statue of writer Carlos Drummond de Andrade. In the work, the miner who was in love with Rio and Copa, is sitting on a bench. In summer, it is common to have a queue to take pictures next to the writer. The fireworks display of New Year's Eve, Copacabana is also the scene of crowded concerts and sporting events throughout the year.
