ENCHANTED WORLD
The Dream of the Enchanted World, started from Mr. Moacir Foss, who at a very young age began his first miniatures. Its idea was to transmit through its miniatures: the culture, the tradition and the customs of the time of the colonization of the Europeans in the mountain range gaucho.
One of his first works in miniatures, he went to the city of Jerusalem and Bethlehem, places where Jesus was born and was crucified. This miniature that represents the history of Jesus, was exposed in the month of December of 1970 until 1972, in his old house, in Praça de Gramado.
Moacir Foss, as he did not have a suitable place to exhibit his miniatures that he did with so much commitment and affection, left aside his creations.
With encouragement and support from his family, in 1999 Moacir Foss returned to restore his carefully crafted miniature replicas, and new miniature ideas began to emerge.
Moacir's dream came to fruition in 2003 by the Foss family, who welcome visitors and tell the stories of their ancestors.
In an area of 500 m², divided into four environments, are exposed their miniatures in scenarios to be admired. There are approximately 300 miniatures, all constructed of handcrafted wood, all of which work perfectly.
The main attraction of Mundo Encantado is the miniature of the Maria Fumaça train, which at the beginning of the last century was the only means of transport between the Rio Grande do Sul and the capital.
The Maria Fumaça has a composition for cargo and another for passengers, it travels 100 meters, between cities, tunnels and bridges and farms.
